This short adventure takes place in the small town of Creft. It’s the day of the Veilnight Festival, with the party just arriving by caravan. This is an event where the Bovnaz, spirits of the deceased that linger within the depths of the land, are honoured. However, there have been rumours abound that dampen the spirits of its visitors. Rumours of villagers disappearing and ancient forgotten rituals sealing equally ancient items.
As the party settles in and indulges in some festival fun, an unwanted visitor stalks around and prepares to upheave the peaceful atmosphere. Can the party stop this threat from escaping when they make themselves known?
Shards and Traditions is a one-shot for second-level characters, designed with both experienced and starting players in mind. The festival allows for an appropriate environment for a GM to explain main mechanics such as attack rolls and skill checks, after which the story kicks into full gear. For experienced players and GMs, there are options for random encounters and prices to fill the available playtime. It’s all topped off with a thematic dungeon crawl, culminating in an epic fight with the shadowy figure responsible for the chaos.
This one-shot is the starting point for a series of one-shots, so check in regularly for more updates to the story!
